ScoreThatRide
Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 1, 2026
ScoreThatRide is a spectator scoring service for dressage shows. It is provided by Sporthorse Online, LLC, a California company (“Sporthorse Online”, “we”, “us”). This policy explains what information we collect through the ScoreThatRide website at sporthorse-online.com/scorethatride and the ScoreThatRide app at scorethatride.sporthorse-online.com, how we use it, and the choices you have.
The short version
- Spectators can score rides without creating an account.
- Show managers need an account, and we keep the information needed to run it.
- Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
- We do not sell personal information.
Information we collect
If you are a spectator
- Your scores. The scores you submit for a ride.
- Optional details. A name and a comment, if you choose to add them and the show allows it. You can score without giving either. If you add them, they are shown publicly with your score.
- A marker in your browser. We store a small marker on your device so that each spectator can score a ride only once and so that you can recognize your own scores when you return.
If you are a show manager
- Account details. Your name, email address, and password. If you sign in with Google, Google gives us your name, email address, and profile picture, and we do not receive your Google password.
- Show information. The shows, classes, rides, rider names, and horse names you enter or import, and the files you upload to import them.
- Payment information. When you buy a plan, Stripe collects and processes your payment details. We receive a record of the purchase, such as the plan, the amount, and the date, but not your full card number.
If you visit our website or use the app
- Technical information. Information your browser sends automatically, such as your IP address, device and browser type, and the pages you open.
- Usage statistics. We use Google Analytics to understand how the website is used. It uses cookies to count visits and to see which pages are viewed.
- Messages. If you write to us through the contact form, we receive your name, email address, and message.
Riders and horses named in a show
Rider and horse names are entered by the show manager who runs the show. They appear on the show’s pages and audience leaderboards, which anyone with the link or QR code can see. The show manager is responsible for having the right to publish this information. If you are named in a show and want your name corrected or removed, contact the show’s organizer or contact us.
How we use information
- To run ScoreThatRide: showing shows and classes, recording scores, and calculating audience results and leaderboards.
- To keep scoring fair, for example by limiting each spectator to one score per ride.
- To create and manage show manager accounts and to process purchases.
- To answer questions and provide support.
- To keep the service secure and to prevent misuse.
- To understand how the website and app are used so we can improve them.
- To meet our legal obligations.
What is shown publicly
Published shows, classes, rider and horse names, audience scores, and leaderboards are visible to anyone who opens the show. If you add a name or a comment to your score, it is shown with the audience results to everyone who opens the show. Please do not put anything in a name or a comment that you want to keep private.
Who we share information with
- Show managers. The managers of a show, and the collaborators they invite, can see the scores, names, and comments submitted for that show so they can review and moderate them.
- Service providers. Companies that help us run ScoreThatRide: Stripe for payments, Google for sign-in and website statistics, and our hosting and infrastructure providers. They may use the information only to provide their services to us.
- Legal reasons. We may disclose information when the law requires it, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of our users, the public, or Sporthorse Online.
- A change of ownership. If ScoreThatRide or Sporthorse Online is sold or merged, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with other companies for their own advertising.
Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies and browser storage for two purposes. Some are needed for the service to work, such as keeping a show manager signed in and remembering which rides a spectator has already scored. Others are used by Google Analytics for website statistics. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you do, parts of the service may not work as intended.
How long we keep information
We keep account information for as long as the account is open. Shows and their scores are kept with no time limit, until the show manager deletes them or asks us to. Messages sent to us are kept for as long as needed to respond and to keep a record of the conversation. We may keep some information longer where the law requires it or to resolve disputes.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Show managers can ask us to close their account. Depending on where you live, including California, you may have further rights under your local privacy laws, and we will not treat you differently for using them. To make a request, contact us through the contact form. We may need to confirm your identity before we act on a request.
Children
ScoreThatRide is a family-friendly service, and spectators of any age can score a ride without giving personal information. Show manager accounts are for adults aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No online service can be completely secure, so we cannot guarantee the security of information you send us.
Where information is processed
ScoreThatRide is operated from the United States, and information is processed there. If you use the service from another country, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the effective date at the top of this page. If a change is significant, we will take reasonable steps to let show managers know.
Contact us
If you have a question about this policy or about your information, write to us through the contact form.
